Jacob Robinson, a native of Sandy, Utah, has long been a fitness enthusiast. After an abysmal performance in his first triathlon twelve years ago on a mountain bike – getting passed by friends and strollers and everyone else, he decided he loved racing and wanted to improve. Over a half dozen half-ironman races, a full ironman, and many sprint races later, Jacob continues to support and train for the sport that promotes a strong and healthy lifestyle. A longtime supporter of the Patriot Triathlon, he is thrilled to now be ¼ of Saturdays Warriors and bring more Saturday races to the Albuquerque area.
Dr. Grant F. Stoddard, known as Dr. G by his friends, is a chiropractor that has been in practice for nearly 30 years. He started doing Triathlons 8 years ago, at 50 years old. He’s always been into sports and physical fitness; at one point he was even sponsored by Ektelon as an amateur racquetball player. But triathlons sparked a particular fire and passion for him. Smiling, Dr. G says “My wife teases me that my mid-life crisis was throwing myself into triathlons. After completing that first Tri, I was hooked. What I love most about Triathlons is they keep me focused on a daily exercise routine. As long as I maintain that routine, I feel great and the Triathlons are extremely rewarding.”
When he’s not training for triathlons, Dr. G loves camping with his family in his Tipi. He has 3 daughters, ranging in age from 32 to 27 years old. He also loves spending time with his two adorable grandchildren, Emmy Rose (3 years old) and Dominic Grant (8 months old). Dr. G has been happily married to his sweetheart for 34 years. He still, after 34 years, calls her his ‘sweet, young bride” and she still blushes (and rolls her eyes). If you get the chance to chat with Dr. G, be prepared for a laugh; he’s a funny, down-to-earth guy that will make you feel right at ease. Until, that is, it’s Triathlon time: then it’s Go time! So keep an eye out for Dr. G, the old chiropractor with a Tipi and a sense of humor!
